Volunteer Opportunities

Calling All Cougar Parents!

The PTA is looking for a few good volunteers! Several programs are in jeopardy of not being offered at CWES this school year.

If we are unable to get volunteers for the following programs, our school will not be able to offer them this year, especially the FLEX program and the Chess Club.

If you want your child to participate in these programs, we need your help!!!

Art Gallery Co-Chair

Working with Corinne Krill in picking, matting and displaying your child's art work in the main lobby of the school. Commitment time: Various times throughout the year.

Community Advocacy Representative

Attending meetings that the superintendent holds and representing CWES on any issues that are presented for vote. There is one representative already, so you could split the meetings or go together.

Chess Club

Setting up schedules for parent volunteers, making sure at the beginning of each session that things are set up, buying snacks for the club, working with the chess master, and organizing sign ups. Commitment time: Varies throughout the year.

FLEX Chairperson or Co-Chairs

Organizing and signing up students for the foreign language programs (Chinese, Spanish, German, etc.) that are offered at our school in the morning before school starts. This is a position that is more of a commitment at the beginning of the school year.

Fun Fair International Food Coordinator

Help our Fun Fair coordinator, Tracy Barron, with organizing the International Food for the Fun Fair. It would entail sending out flyers asking for contributions and setting up and organizing food on the day of the fair. Commitment is from September-Ocober.

Reflections Co-Chair

Work with Sue Murray in collecting, organizing, and displaying your child's art work for a county-wide art, music, video competition. Commitment is from September through the end of Ocober and then the month of March.

Room Parents

There will be an Orientation Meeting for room parents.  This meeting is purely optional.  It will be on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, AT 2:45 IN THE CWES CAFETERIA.  The most important subjects we will cover are CONFIDENTIALITY and VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS.
