The Classroom
Talk with your teacher or Room Parent to see what your teacher's needs are going to be this year. The usual help that your teacher/room parent needs in the classroom are in the following areas:
Room Parent
Someone who works directly with the teacher to help plan activities in the classroom, such as class parties, Egypt Day (3rd Grade), Virginia Day (4th Grade), etc. Coordinate parents to help out in the classroom for these events and also coordinate gifts for the teacher throughout the year. You can sign up to be a room parent at back to school night on September 15th.
Grace Arts Docent
Be a docent in your child's classroom. Heather Hartung is our Grace Arts chair person. Contact Heather at the email provided under the PTA committee section that is located under "About CWES PTA". You will give a brief history of the artist of the quarter and work with other volunteers to carry out the art activity for that quarter to your child's class.
Volunteer
Volunteer for the parties, special days (in Grades 3-6), or any other time the room parent may need your help. Volunteering is a great way to connect with the school community while making a significant impact on your child's school experience!
